Hi, my beautiful friends. How are you doing? It’s Mimi here today. So today’s hairstyle is going to be something really fun, and it’s going to have two parts. And the first part of this hairstyle, I’ll show you how to quickly curl your hair, literally like five to seven minutes when you have long hair. And then the second part of this hairstyle, I’ll show you how to do this really cute and easy [00:00:30] half up, half down hairstyle. So let’s begin.
First, I’ll walk you through what you’re going to need for this hairstyle. Now, the most important thing we’re going to need is a curling iron with the smallest curling barrel you can get. This one is about an inch, I would say. So this is the smallest I have, and it works pretty well so that’s number one. Number two, you’re going to need a hair brush. We’re going to need a hair clip, some bobby pins, and a hairspray.
All right. So the first thing I’m going to do is just brush my hair. I’m wearing my Luxy Hair extensions today. And I’m wearing the Ombre set in 160 grams. So the first thing, I’ll just quickly brush my hair. Now, normally when I wear my Luxys, it takes me, I would say, anywhere between 30 minutes to 45 to curl my hair, depending on what kind of curls I’m doing. Now, with this method, it will take me
So I usually use this curling method when I’m really short on time, and I have to get ready and do my hair, and that’s what I would recommend to use it as well. So the first thing I’m going to do. So I already my section my hair in two sections, the right and left, the left and right. And usually I start working with my left section. Normally, when I use a small curling barrel, what I do with it is I use it to get really small curls because that’s really what it’s for. And I take quite small sections to get really small curls.
Now, what this barrel is really good for as well is when you use really big sections, and you use a small barrel, you get just big waves. So If I were to just use a big barrel to get big waves, it would take me a lot more time. So here really is the trick is when you use small barrel on a big section of hair … So it’s like math. Small barrel plus big section of hair equals actually big, beautiful waves in a lot less time.
So let’s begin. I’m going to go for as big as, I would say even, this is probably like two or three inches of hair. Normally, I take about one inch of hair when I’m curling my hair. And I’ll test it first to see if it wraps around the barrel. How do you know when you have too much hair, the hair is going to start sliding out of your barrel. So see, if I can curl it around, that means this is good enough hair. So I’m just going to brush it one more time before I curl it.
So take this section of hair and tightly wrap it around the barrel, and I’m wrapping it away from my face. Then I’m going to hold it for about 10 to 15 seconds and then just release it. And when I usually release it, I carefully release it and still hold it with my hands. And then bu-dom. So as you can see, the whole section looks like a big beautiful wave. I’m almost done. I have like two more sections on this side or three more sections on this side, and then I’ll be done with my left side. So I’m just going to doing the exact same thing.
All right. So I’m done curling my left side. Literally, I had about five sections. You can see you can count the curls I have there. And for now, I’m just going to leave it as it is, and I’m going to do the same thing here. So I’m going to split this whole big section into five big chunks, and I’m going to curl it away from my face as well.
All right. So I’m finished curling all the hair, and it’s pretty amazing because it took me about five to seven minutes, something that, like I said, usually takes me about 40 minutes. Now, I’m not completely finished. What I’m going to do next is I’m going to spray all the hair with a hairspray. What I’m going to do next is I’m going to open up all these curls. So I’m just going to do it with my fingers. I’m going to start running through the big curls and opening them up. And I’m going to be left with very beautiful soft waves. Okay. Finished with my left side, going to do the same here just run the fingers through my hair and open up those tight waves. And as you can see, the hair becomes fuller, the curls become smaller. Looks like I actually spent hours doing my hair.
All right. So I’m finished with the curls, and sometimes this is where I would stop and just go like this because I mean this looks pretty fantastic like I spent hours doing my hair, or I’ll take it a step further, and I’ll do sort of a half up, half down hairstyle. I love wearing my hair down, but sometimes it’s just like in my face when I’m working or when I’m eating.
So what I’ll do right now is I’ll take a section here from the right, and usually, I’ll pull this hair forward, and I’ll slightly twist this section. Literally, all I’m doing is just twisting this section a bit. Now, I’ll grab my bobby pin and I’ll just pin it place in the back. But I still have this hair here. So It’s a really small section that I’m pinning. So I’ll slide the bobby pin down, and then release that. And then I’ll go here, and I’ll do the exact same thing, except that personally, I really like to have my bangs on the side. I don’t know why. I guess it makes me feel more feminine when I have hair in my face. It’s very strange. So I’ll just let my bang kind of hang in there, just brush through it first. And then I’ll pick up hair, whatever naturally falls, I’ll kind of let it fall, and then I’ll do the same thing here. So I’ll just twist it and then just pin the rest in the back, and that’s really it.
